After the psychological preparation stage for the surgery, you finally came to our clinic for ear construction. In this section, we will talk about the necessary medical preparations for surgery and the issues that need to be considered before surgery.
In order for the necessary examinations and preparations to be made before the operation, our patients should come to our clinic 2 days before the operation. After the final evaluation and information meeting with Dr. Mutaf, consent forms containing detailed information about the surgery will be provided to you. After the preoperative photos and videos are taken in our clinic, you will be directed to the hospital where the operation will be performed for the necessary blood tests and anesthesiologist consultation to see if there is a health problem that may interfere with the operation.
In order to reduce the stress burden of parents and facilitate the adaptation of children to the treatment process, we encourage them to act independently of parents together with our team from the moment of your arrival at the preoperative consultation. Examination, preoperative evaluation and measurements, photography, etc.. at all these stages, it is an
mportant part of this preparation for the child to go alone to the room where these procedures will be performed with Dr. Mutaf and our team members. You will be in the waiting room while these procedures are being performed. Our most important request from you is to avoid saying your children “DONT BE AFRAID”, ”WE ARE HERE" etc. Please be careful not to say these kind of words that can cause fear and anxiety in children when being directed to another room for necessary procedures.
Since it is an operation to be performed under general anesthesia, blood tests will be performed to determine whether the patient has a problem in terms of anesthesia, and the patient will be evaluated by pediatricians and anesthesiologists to determine whether he is suitable for surgery. It is vital that you convey information about the surgeries your child has undergone before, allergies, diseases and medications he uses, if any, during this interview.
Preoperative examinations are completed on the same day. After the examinations, we want you to go to your hotel and spend time resting until the surgery.
It should be ensured that the chIld sleeps well the nIght before the operatIon. For anesthesia, It Is Important that the patient be brought to the hospItal wIthout eatIng or drInkIng anythIng on the mornIng of the operatIon, as It Is necessary to be hungry and dehydrated for a mInImum of 6 hours before the operatIon tIme.
